I changed to the cyanogenmod rom last night and it deleted all my apps i had in the process of installing it. Is there a way i can avoid doing this while changing ROMs? Thanks for any info!

Install TitaniumBackup from the market, the pro version is well worth the $$$ as it gives you 1 click restores.

There are several apps that backup up you apps and data. Astro, Titanium, and My Backup.

Not sure if this matters to you, but I think Titanium is the only one which keeps your market link so that when an update for an app occurs you will still be notified. I know Astro breaks the link. I believe MyBackup does as well.
