If I want to make some modifcations to some images in the framework-res.apk, how can I repackage it back into an .apk?

I did a search but didn't come up with anything. I basically want to edit the notification bar to make it transparent, along with some of the other images that are up there.

download and install 7win. With this you can open the files within the apk once you copy to your computer. I usually drag my image folder to my desktop and leave the 7win directory open. Then I open and edit any of the images within the folder and save them (defaulting to replacing the image). Then you just drag the folder back in to the opened 7win original directory and close it up. Then copy the apk file to your sdcard root directory and in TE, type in the following:

    su
    mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    busybox cp -R /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework
    reboot

That's it. I have had to re-enter my google account and facebook account info but it runs great every time.

I would do some research on meta-morph also. I use that to pop in my frameworks... that or I re-make an update.zip

Take a look around your ROM. I found mine in the /system/xbin folder on both my last two ROMs. Just copy it to the /system/bin folder and it should be good.

Interesting. I already have a busybox file in the bin folder, 1.something Mb. THere's also one in the xbin folder, that's only 400Kb... just pushed the new framework-res.apk, will try "installing" it through TE now....

Ugh, screen went blank after the entering busybox line. Battery pull and I get the big "M".

    Restore. :)
