Two ways to change the font: First download & install Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme v.6.0.0. That has the "change your font" feature built right into the Settings. The second way is by using MetaMorph. There's a font package that you download - I don't remember from where, off the top of my head, and I'm at work right now - you put it into the MetaMorph folder on your SD Card, and access it through MetaMorph. Kind of a pain, but it DOES work. I used it many times, until I got UD 6.0.0.

Skaggs fonts are available in the downloads/forkup section of ROM manager, if you have CW recovery installed, choose a font, and you will be prompted for the rest

I don't think Skaggsfont is specific to certain roms. If you have MetaMorph working, I think you can use it to install the specific fonts in the Skaggsfont zip to whatever rom and theme you have.

    Easiest way:

    - You need 2 copies of your font. Name them "DroidSans.ttf" and "DroidSans-Bold.ttf", and put them on your SD card.
    - Use Root Explorer to move the original fonts, with the same names as above, from /system/fonts/ to your sdcard. I have a backups folder there with originals of any files I modify or replace, so I put them in /sdcard/backups/. Just don't put them in the same place as the ones you're installing. This should go without saying, but...ya never know.
    - Move your new fonts in into /system/fonts/, and give them permissions of rw-r--r--.
    - Reboot, and enjoy.

I was wondering this as well, but just got the fonts out of the theme I wanted and placed on SD, then moved them in root explorer to system/fonts (have to be rooted and mount r/w) ...

That's all it takes, no app, no update.zip, just make sure you back up the originals.

All your theme does during install is load its fonts there ...

Here is the page that gave me the info when I was researching for myself:

Install Custom fonts on Rooted Anroid Phone | Gadgets DNA

And follow OSX's post on permissions as well ...
