Ok so im lost here..i'm trying to change my boot animation using this tutorial- How To Get a Custom Boot Screen on Droid Tony Virelli – Web Developer – HTML, xHTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript

I followed everything and yes i have the folder named bootanimation.zip- not .zip.zip and everytime i load up there is no animation what so ever.
any help as to a different way to do it or something i might be missing would be appreciated.

i just did it, and it worked for me. it took me a couple of times, to make sure i had spaces in the appropriate spots (it's kind of difficult to tell from the way it's laid out on the web page)...

Just use Root Explorer and copy the new bootanimation.zip file to 'data/local'

I had a lot of issues with my droid as well, but I found this method to be successful.

Download Terminal Emulator on the market (it's free). Copy your bootanimation.zip to the root of your sdcard.

Go into Terminal Emulator and type these commands:

    su
    cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
    reboot

    Hope this helps :)
