Is there anyway to change how you unlock/answer the phone? I would rather just be able to press a button instead of having to slide the damn thing. I know it isn't anything too important it is just something that has been bothering me and I just wondered i there was a way to do it?

I believe there are lock screen replacement apps that do this! Look on the market.

I looked for a lock screen replacement app that did this but my Search Fu is weak. Anybody else find something worthwhile?

Do a Google search for MyLock for Android. It bypasses the lock/slider screen so all you do is press the mute/standby button and then you're at the Homescreen.

Does it have an alternative way to answer the phone besides sliding?

Lock 2.0 is good, but it's a slide unlock app none-the-less. MyLock is a slide unlock - disabler, I'll see if I can get a link for you.

Research into those doesn't seem to point to anything that will allow for changing the slide to answer annoyance.

Has there been any more info come forward on this request by the Op in the last 3 months? I too am looking for some way of replacing the slide lock with a simpler way of answering the phone. Thanks.
