Change power up/down notification

Hi -

Droid 2 newbie here - is there a way to change the power up/down notification tone?

I thinking I've mastered personalizing ringtones and notification tones for emails and text messages but I'm stumped here.

As far as I know it can only be the droid sound or if you've changed your notification tone to something else then it makes that annoying beeping sound.

Yeah, I changed the notification to the a mp3. On power up/down I get an irritating ring/beep.

Yeah I know how that is. You can always turn it off entirely by going settings > sounds and turning off sd card notifications

You can't access a sound on the sd card before the card initializes or after it dismounts. The workaround to allow the sound to play during reboot is adding the sound on the phone's system partition. Requires root.
