I want to change my top title bar (the one where 3g/signal/notification icons/clock icons are. I want to make it green. I've went through all the framework-res.apk files that are black (my current color) that have status bar or title bar in the name to no avail. Which file is it?

I've been trying to figure it out myself. The info i've gotten so far is in drawable-hdpi..

    statusbar_background.9
    status_bar_item_background_normal.9
    status_bar_item_app_background_normal.9

Hoping an expert can shed some more light here.

Yeah, i went through and changed all the colors and kept track. I successfully changed the bottom shade bar, the drop down background, the background of individual notifications, the background color where it says "Verizon Wireless" or what not, and the divider bars in between where it says "ongoing" or "notifications". But none of em changed the damn main, always there notification bar. Come on experts!!!

i'd say that's quite an accomplishment all by itself..congrats! Upon further research i believe there's at least one .xml file that needs to be edited, but i could be wrong.

You're in the right place, I believe that

    status_bar_header_background.9.png is the notification bar

and these are the blocks where notifications in the pulldown are
    status_bar_item_background_normal.9
    status_bar_item_app_background_normal.9

Not an expert but have done some themeing

status_bar_header_background.9.png is the background where it says "Verizon Wireless". And i found that guide earlier on the xda-developers site, but could't find the last file listed there (statusbar_background.png in /res/drawable). Following that guide got me as far as i am.

I've looked in every ROM i have and none of them have the file statusbar_background.png. Maybe its a lost cause.

Eureka!!!! Solution was to copy the statusbar_background.9.png file from the stock LFY rom to my already modded WM'd LFY and colored it and it worked fine. For some reason, the .png in the WM'd theme didn't want to carry over when changed.
