yes there is! :D, in the theme folder go to system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi and thats where you'll find the wifi icon.

whatever icon you want to use select it and put it in drawable-hdpi and it should say copy and replace or something like that

I've never tried to do it thru root explorer, but if you copy your theme zip file to windows you can use a program like 7zip to open the archive go to system/framework, open the framework apk and go to the dawrable hdpi folder you should be able to drag your icon into it. then copy the theme file back to your sdcard and install.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use the app Folder Organizer. With it you can change any app icon and not have to mess with getting into an apk.

Sweet.. This worked on the framework-res.apk. But... how would you do it on the "Launcher2.apk" in UD 6.0.
I tried the same method, but it keeps sticking me in a loop. I am trying to change the "Home" button. I matched the pixels (128x128), but it still wont work. Am I missing something?

Just post the icon you want, and if you have Metamorph, I can make you a .zip that'll replace just that one icon.

Need little more help here folks..

I have successfully changed a bunch of icons, but I need little more help.
I am trying to change the SMS messaging icon along with the Market and Maps icon. Can you tell me where they are located?

Ok, not a lot to go on. Simple white on blue Wifi at the bottom and either a red ? for in range, a green T for using system tethering, a long red bar for no signal and increasing blue bars for signal strengths 1-4.

Just copy the zip into /sdcard/AndroidThemes run Metamorph, use it to unzip it, it should automatically select SimpleWifi, click apply all, click yes to reboot when prompted.

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS CREATED BY USING THIS MM THEME.

As with any theme element or system change I'd recommend backing up your ROM first (I use Clockwork to do so), so that you can revert if you wind up not liking even as much as the one you have now.

Hopefully, it works for you. It looks sharper when on the small screen.
