Change Genre of Music

I have all of my music on iTunes on my computer. My music is organized in the specific genre that it is(rock, rap, country, etc.). When I transfer this music onto my phone, I have many different genres(Mixtape, R&B, Rock, Other, Pop, ETC.). How can I organize this to the way I like it organized? I tried to go into the actual file and change, but some don't have that option.

i think there is an app in the app store for organizing music on the droid into playlist based on any qualifications. think of smart playlist but on your phone.

Unfortunetley the name of the app is escaping my memory right now, so if someone else could help...
