Alright so 2 days ago on the way to the bathroom i left my phone on the counter not wanting to risk dropping my droid in the toilet only to come back and see that my cat spilled a full glass of water onto it from the shelf above...just my luck:icon_evil:

But anyways i turned it off right away and let dry till today. The wet indicators on the droid itself and the battery are red cause it was SOAKED. Good thing is droid fully works like nothing ever happened, tested everything possible.

My question is, should i buy a new droid with the insurance for $89 or leave it be? I've been debating on what to do. If i ever need anything from verizon there not going to touch my droid :( Just want opinions on what to do, thanks!

I got 5 cats. If one of mine did that I'd have 4.

I would just keep your current droid and save the 89 dollars until something serious happens.

If it works, keep it. If you have Asurion insurance then chances are you will get a refurbished phone and very possibly a problematic one.

*shrugs* I hear cat is a fine meal. A little Bar-B-Que sauce and some white rice brings the nom. :icon_ devil:

Aw, c'mon... someone *had* to say it!

From my for-what-it's-worth-dept, my VZW BlackBerry Curve had the moisture indicators showing up as solid red for the last 1 1/2 years I owned it. I have no idea how they ever got wet, I never soaked it, but I never had a problem with it either. I guess it's a bit of a coin-toss for you as to what to do with it. I'm guessing you don't want it to crap-out on you unexpectedly, so you might want to think about replacing now instead of waiting.

Otherwise, good luck.

but yea i was thinking of just keeping it and if i need a replacement down the road i will do that. my concern was if i ever needed to bring it to verizon im screwed. Thanks for the input:)

We don't have a cat but our 6 year old son did the same thing to my wife's phone. It continues to work as if nothing ever happended. I'm very impressed. If it were my BB Storm - it would be out for the count.

Anyway, she continues to use it without sending it in.

in the battery compartment to indicate water damage.
Thanks! That's handy to know should I ever get mine wet. Though I promise to try and avoid that! ;)

Hoping to stay dry - cuskit

my phone has never been exposed to water and they are red, I believe they have been red since I got the phone...
Okay - I'm only seeing one "red" thingamjig". It appears to have a sort of white cross emblem in it, with a red background. Under the battery cover, but not under the battery. It's in the corner closest to the camera eye. Is this what we are speaking of? And you mention it in the plural sense. Where are the others? I see only this one on my Motorola Droid.

Lost my other Reds in Jersey - Cuskit
