Today updates came out for YouTube and Voice Search, but both say download unsuccessful. How do I update these apps when using Ultimate Droid?

I had the same issue but got it to work...
1) uninstall youtube
2) reboot
3) go to market and install

Did you have to uninstall the apps and then install them from the Market?

No I updated just like usual. The only weird thing was that after updating they disappeared from the market for a bit, but came back like two minutes later.

When I try to uninstall either app, I get a message saying uninstall unsuccessful. Any ideas?

I had this issue, and simple solution was to use Root Explorer to rename Youtube in the System/app folder from .apk to .bak rebooted, and installed through the market.

The other option is to use titanium backup to delete them, reboot, and then install via the market

go to /system/app then delete the .apk
mount r/w
delete or move the apks from there
reboot
install the apps from the market, then you should be good.
