Can't update to stock 2.2 after unroot

I just unrooted my droid to 2.1 update 1 and I can't update up to stock 2.2. It says my system is up to date and whenever I try to flash an update.zip it says signature verification failed.
Please help me

check to make sure it's not named update.zip.zip

I am 100% sure it is named update.zip. any other suggestions?

Is SU still in your drawer? You would need to remove SU if it's still in there.

Nevermind. I found a stock froyo sbf and i flashed it. it seems like its working now

I know this is a bit late. I have the exact same issue, so can you elaborate on this SU and the folder that its in.
