hey everybody. I just updated my Droid Eris to 2.1 last night, and so far I've worked past all but one issue: I can't set a shortcut on my desktop to toggle 3g/mobile network on and off. I start by clicking + (add to home) > shortcut > settings but the option is no longer there to choose mobile network. bluetooth and wi-fi are still there, but the update seems to have deleted 3g from the list. anybody out there know how to get around this, or should I just go through the settings menu everytime (which takes considerably longer)?

I generally use the shortcut while I'm at work to save battery power, as I'm sure you know, the eris has horrible battery life. it makes it easier to cut if off, then back on to check something and so on.

thanks for your help.

I was having the same issue, try this... hold down on an empty space to bring up the apps, go to htc widget, go to settings, choose "mobile network". That installed a toggle button that works for me.

No 3G toggle widget

I have an Incredible an am having the same issue. I downloaded the widget when I first got the phone. I had to do a hard reset to cure some issues and now the widget is nowhere to be found. I tried looking at the HTC widgets refered too, but not there either. Very furstrating. Best solution to date for me is a battery widget that has a shortcut to the network system switch. Still a three step solution.

Really? Under HTC widgets you don't have a sub-menu called "Settings" ? That's where I found the widget called "Mobile Network" which brought up the one-touch toggle switch I had before the 2.1 upgrade.

I should mention I have an Eris.
