Everytime I restart my phone Clockwork Mod recovery starts. I can't get rid of it. I have uninstalled it. I even did a hard reset on the phone last night and the damn thing is still there when I rest the phone. I want it completely off my phone. Any ideas how to get it off?

Flash SPrecovery or go back to stock. Those are the other two options.

sorry didn't see you had a DX. I nothing about that. You will get better faster help by posting in the DX area not the Droid Hacking>android ROMs area.

I just want this thing gone. I'll go back to stock to get ride of it. Do I just unroot and that will get rid of it? What it I root again in the future will it be back?

I tempted to take it into Verizon and have them fix it. I'll never screw around with this damn mod again. So wish I hadn't. I don't understand how a hard reset doesn't actually reset the phone and get ride of everything. Ovouisly it doesn't.

    Uninstalling The Bootstrapper

It's a little tricky to completely remove the bootstrapper; that said, follow these foolproof instructions to never see clockworkmod recovery again:

    1. Uninstall Droid X Bootstrapper
    2. Use a root file system explorer (e.g. Root Explorer) to navigate to /system/bin
    3. Delete the file "logwrapper"
    4. Rename the file "logwrapper.bin" to "logwrapper"
    5. Reboot
Doesn't work. I have two files one named logwrapper and one named logwrapper.bin neither can be renamed, moved or deleted

Go to this link and read all the stickies and then read anything else that seems to relate to your issue. You need to learn what you are doing before you screw up your phone beyond repair. If you take it to Verizon they will not smile on the fact that you hacked your phone. I assume it is still in warranty and if so, they will void the warranty in all likelihood. Droid X Hacks - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

    Good luck.

I'm obvoiusly not smart enough to get ride of this clockwork mod recovery so how do I get the damn thing to stop showing up when I restart the phone? That's all I want. Hell I'll leave the stupid thing on I just want it to stop preventing my phone from restarting.

The method you posted earlier will work, you just need root explorer. You have to mount the system as r/w, which only root explorer can do as far as I know. Anyway, once you mount it r/w you can edit said files. You have to be in the folder that the file is located in, and then click r/w at the top.

I'm done screwing with it. Sending it in to Motorola so they can put it back to stock. All ready have an RMA. Nothing worked and I recommend no one ever for any reason use that Clockwork Mod Recovery. Phones in the mail.

Thousands of people use clockwork. U had an issue that was user related. Please don't bash a program because u didn't get the outcome u expected. I can email u a one click method to remove cw if u want but it sounds like u have a new phone coming.
