Can't receive messages

My global has a problem with sometimes not being able to receive texts. I can fix it but i have to shut it off and remove the battery. When i turn it back on, i finally get all the messages that were sent to me while it wasnt working. This phone is only 2 weeks old, and already giving me problems like this. Havent modified this phone. What could be wrong with it?

My phone randomly does that. usually takes a day to fix itself
