Can't get computer to recognize usb connection. Same with my phone.

Since you didn't mention this, I'll ask. Do you have usb debugging checked under settings, applications, development? When you connect the cable to the computer, do you get the usb connection notification icon? If you open the usb connection icon are you set to Mass Storage? Please verify you are using the original cable that came with the phone and you are connecting to a rear port on the computer.
