I wanted to try out MetaMorph. But I need to install Busybox first....

I would like to do this manually, since I really don't like using the root helpers and other tools. But I did a search and most of the results either refered to a ROM with it already installed...or to a root helper program/tool that did it for you.

Can anyone point me to a good walkthrough on where to find the latest file and how to move to the system files?

    Thanks,

    BusyBox
download busybox binary to your adb tools directory
    AllDroid - Information
cd to your adb tools directory
    adb push busybox /data/local/busybox
    adb shell
    su
    cd /data/local
    chmod 755 busybox
    ./busybox
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    mkdir /system/xbin
    /data/local/busybox cp /data/local/busybox /system/xbin
    /data/local/busybox cp /data/local/busybox /system/bin
    cd /system/xbin
    busybox --install .
    mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    sync
    reboot

The above is from this thread, which I found through the "all-in-one popular threads" sticky.

I think the easiest way is downloaded droidroothelper from the market and it does it for you.
