can't connect to shared network drives

I'm having trouble connecting to shared hard drives on my network. It asks for logon password for drives that dont have a login and password.

If it doesn't require one, then you should be able just to press enter and connect.

Always asks for username password. Have a flash drive connected to my router. I have an xp machine with shared hard drive. I've tried changing permission settings.

What I'm saying is just hit enter when it asks you. Have you tried that?

Yeah tried it it's not working. The usb drive is not accessible. Shared xp machine doesn't work. It won't accept the username and password, even if it's blank.
