Can't Boot Up Droid

So I decided today that I felt like rooting my OG Droid and overlcocking it just for kicks. But when I go to turn it on, I can't even get it to boot. I've been charging it for the last hour so it should have enough juice but still not luck. I tried pulling the battery as well and that made no difference. But when I am charging it, the little light by the usb port does light up.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks!

If you can get into recovery try reinstalling the OS.

When I try turning on the device by holding the power button and up on the dpad, it takes me to a black screen that says "bootloader" at the top and towards the bottom it says, "Battery low, Cannot Program." This is odd as I've been charging it all day. Do you think I need a new battery?
