Have you tried flashing clockworkmod recovery from rom manager?

Have you tried flashing SP Recovery in rom manager? Sometimes you have to flash SP then reflash CW. It may even take flashing like that a few times for it to stick.

The last time I had that problem, I used rsd lite to flash SP recovery. Once I had a working recovery I went from there.

The best way to get recovery back is to use the sprecovery sbf in the first link in my signature, using RSDLite to do so.
