I haven't heard of a working method for it yet. Your best bet is to use something like ROTA893 to forever root your phone while on the .893 update, then applying the .901 update afterwards.

only way is back to 893, and use rota893 as posted above. be prepared for a cdt error as this happens to some going back to 893. if you google search bionic pathsaver you will find tons of post with the pathsaver method. what i did was use pathsaver to get back to 893. had to use a file and script to force cdt file. used rota893. booted into recovery and selected the 901 update file.

That should fix any CDT errors you might get, you'll know what this if all your phone does is boot up into the black and white Fastboot screen and won't do anything else.
