can you port iphone apps to android?

I have a feeling this has been asked before but I searched and couldn't find anything. I am a hardcore anime addict, and would like the evangelion battery and clock app on my droid. I read that both the iphone and android use the same development or something.

Nope, The app would have to be re-written.
