Can u use droid as a modem

    short answer? yes.

    verizon does have a feature you can use to connect it and there is also PDAnet i believe that you can use to tether you phone to your laptop.

    Tethering of the Droid will not officially be supported until early 2010 according to Verizon.

    PDANet supposedly (I only say that because I haven't tried it personally) works. However you run the risk of Verizon catching you and billing you for the data usage (Whether they are able to do this is a matter of much debate, but just letting you know that this potential is there so you can choose accordingly)
