Can not load adb drivers for the life of me

I have been trying to change the boot animation on my droid incredible for the last 2 hours. I can not get the adb drivers to install. Am I doing something wrong? I have the JDK and the SDK, but I can not get the computer to see the phone, please help.

Don't get angry but the dumb questions first. Which OS are you on? Usb debugging? Have you updated the SDK as there was an update about a week ago?

I won't get angry, I am running windows vista, usb debugging is on, i just downloaded the SDK, but when I run the sdk setup, i get this message "Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: HTTPS SSL error. You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings." and when i go to select a package, nothing is listed.

so i did this and installed usb driver package, revision 3. Android SDK tools, revision 6 is also installed, but when I connect the phone, it still can not find the drivers.

So under settings, i checked "force https://...to be fetched using http://" and it seems to be working now.
