I'll probably get laughed at with this question, but I gotta ask it anyway. Is there an app that will allow me to surf the internet on my laptop via my Droid? In other words, can I use the Droid as a WiFi router?

Do a search for "tether" or "tethering" and you'll be in solution heaven.

the answer is yes. to my knowledge, you can do the PdaNet thing WITH a cable and WITHOUT being rooted... or, if you are rooted, most roms come with the "wifi tethering for root users" app that allows you to do so sans wires

you also have to download pdanet for your computer. Just do a Google search. Using your Droid with the USB cable is nice because if you're plugged with your laptop you're charging your phone while your surfing the web. Not sure what the battery life is when not plugged in. Also, remember the 5GB limit Verizon puts on data.

No such limit on the Droid.....

Limit is on data modems. That being said, don't go crazy on the downloads...
