Tried a couple different searches and couldn't come up with anything, but this should be a pretty straight forward question.

When I download an apk file onto the sd card and perform a manual install, is it safe to move and/or delete the apk files from the download folder or are they needed for the app to run?

    Thanks

After the app is installed they are no longer needed.

Deleting them is harmless - the copy of the apk on your SD card is not needed for the application to run
