Is it possible to teather a Droid X to a Droid Tablet, so that the tablet will have internet access?

Thank Johnnie

Should be possible with WiFi, but probably not with USB.

The galaxy tab requires a tweak to one of the files, so it has to be rooted. No word on the Xoom

Since all tablets have wifi. You can use either barnacle or the 3g hotspot hack.

Android doesn't (by default) connect to ad-hoc networks. This holds true for the galaxy tab as well. Ic, however, you modify the tablet to allow it to connect to ad-hoc wick then yes, wick tether would work for any android tablet. I think the wireless tether app is a standard wick network though, at least it seems like it on my laptop... barnacle is definitely an ad-hoc

I believe the 3g hack is not ad hoc. So it should work. I read that somewhere. My son runs his unactivated original droid off my droid x all of the time.

Uncle, you are correct. The Verizon hotspot app is a standard network, not ad-hoc. I was only commenting toward the "legal" alternatives
