Does anybody know where the images are located for the stock camera? I don't need a new camera app, but I'd like to reskin the current one. It's god-awfully ugly.

It reminds me of some of my first designs in Photoshop 6.

    adb pull /system/app/Camera.apk Camera.apk

That would pull it to whatever directory you are currently in.

adb pull /system/app/Camera.apk c:\ worked for me.

Trick is the C has to be capitalized or it fails.

Yeah, I was going to say, I was getting frustrated that it wasn't pulling. Works now, must have been using lower case.

if you have a rooted phone and dont mind spending $3 (i think is what it was) SU File Manager in the market is an AWESOME file manager that gives you SU access to all files and folders. Then you couldve easily just copied your camera.apk file to the sdcard off your phone, then connect to computer do your magic straight from the sdcard, then disconnect and then copy it back over and reinstall. Super easy.

Here is my quickly thrown together skin. If you want to download it, here is the link:

    http://rootyourdroid.info/public/biglou_brushed_Camera.apk

Back up your original Camera app!!!

    • adb pull /system/app/Camera.apk Camera.apk
    • Move somewhere safe
    To load onto your phone:

    • Rename to: Camera.apk (capital C)
    • Move to your SDK tools folder
    adb push Camera.apk /system/app/Camera.apk

As I said, this is quickly thrown together, so please let me know of any mistakes/errors. Any suggestions are welcome.
