camera having issues focusing

first and foremost my autofocus indicator disappeared, secondly the thing doesnt focus well on things close by, its just blurry. anyone else experiencing this?

What I do is I just press and hold the button down halfway, it'll focus, once it's focused I fully press the button to snap a photo, haven't had problems with blurriness if I do that.

Setting it to steady shot mode also helps.

thx, wow i got the autofocus indicator back, that was weird it was missing for a few days

Mine just started doing the same thing. Did you do anything special to get the auto-focus box to come back?

Switched from the camera to the camcorder and then back again and the focus box came back...

Turn off face detection under setting, it sounds counter intuitive I know.

Mine just started with the not focusing problem. Tried pulling the battery changing settings and still blurry pictures.
