Thecamera that came with this phone quit working so I downloaded a few more from the store but all keep giving me errors or instead of taking the pics, show just a gray box. Could something be up with my SD card?

Is it stock? Could be a hardware issue.

What does stock mean? Also, I did a factory reset last week, which fixed all my errors except for this camera problem.

Stock means not rooted. Try going to settings/apps/manage apps/all/camera/wild data. See if it even has the option. But if no third party apps worked either then its probably a hardware issue.

It is stock then and is there a way to fix it if it is a hardware problem?

I'm sure there is a way but I have no clue about that. Did the camera lens get wet or anything?

Took my phone into verizon today. He suggested backing up my sd card then unmounting sd card and reformatting. That's on tap for tomorrow. I know how to get pics off there. Is there anything else I should worry wboutt?
