Camera doesnt work on my droid 2

My camera for some reason does not come on. I try to open it; I hear the camera, but then it goes back to my home. what would cause this? And how is it fixable

Two things you can try are:

1. From the home screen - Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All/Camera/Clear Data.

2. Try a hard reset.

Oh, and if that doesn't fix it, contact Verizon as it would be a warranty issue.
