Caller Name ID

Has anyone gotten Caller Name ID to work on any of the advanced calling devices with ac enabled? I have a GS6 and supposedly it's now compatible, but on my wife's edge it continues to say "not compatible due to advanced calling being activated" and I can't even get my app to connect.

Here is a link to the Verizon website FAQ section about HD calling. Apparently Caller Name ID is not compatible with HD Calling / VoLTE. From Verizon:

Advanced Calling 1.0 is built on a new technology platform that's different from the platform upon which certain existing features are built. Until these features are upgraded to work on the new platform, they won't work on HD Voice-enabled phones.

The following features are considered incompatible with Advanced Calling 1.0 at this time:
•Ringback Tones
•Slacker Radio Tones
•Caller Name ID
•Company Name ID
When adding the HD Voice feature, you'll be notified of any incompatible features that exist on your line. These features will be removed from your line at the time HD Voice is added.

Note: Apps associated with these features aren't compatible with Advanced Calling 1.0 at this time. These apps won't work as expected as long as HD Voice remains on your line.

I knew it wasn't at the beginning, but I thought the 5.1.1 update to the S6 enabled it with advanced calling.

The update to make Caller Name ID compatible with HD Calling will have to come from Verizon, not from a manufacturer or from Google in an Android version upgrade. HD Calling is ALL Verizon, and I believe Caller Name ID is all Verizon also, nothing to do with Google, Android or Samsung. Any HD Calling feature changes need to start with them.

Have you called Verizon customer support to see what they have to say; if it really is compatible now, or was that a typo?

I'd definitely call Verizon. Something is not set up right with your line.
