Calendar event Issue

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am at my whits end with this Droid X. I rely on my calendar for everything. However, I have googled, I have searched the forums, I have tried everything to solve this issue.

Here it is. I add an event on the Droid to one of calendars (not the gmail calendar) at it deletes off the Droid within 2 mins. It will not sync and stay on the phone or the corresponding calendar.

Why? I have seen that this issue goes all the way back to the original release but no one has offered any solutions.

This began happening to me about 1 week ago. Drove me absolutely nuts as I also totally depend upon my calendar. So yesterday I upgraded to gingerbread, and the problem went away. That having been said, another problem surfaced that I am also unable to find any information about (it is posted a few posts further down from here "Calendar Synchronization Issue". To which no one has responded, sigh.
I recommend installing the new Android GB release (2.3.3) and see if that fixes the problem.
