I have tried this a few times and seems to work great. if you do not want the "bright ass" button lights on all night when u are trying to sleep, just turn phone off before putting it in dock. phone and multimedia station turn on but button lights do not! try i out. hopefully evryone else can get these same results.

Thanks for the idea. I've often thought of a way to turn the lights off but didn't think of this.

Did I miss this being posted???

The buttons turn on & off based on the light conditions. If its bright in the room the button lights go off. If its dark, they come on. Kind of makes sense other than the fact its a ALARM CLOCK and we want it to be dark! I guess what was intended to be helpful is in fact a hindrance.

This is with the 2.1 clock & dock.

I have tried this several times and several ways... button lights stay on.
Off, as in short press on the power button: My phone wakes up and then switches to dock view with power button lit

in froyo you can turn them off easily, just press the little button to dim the screen, and the LEDS turn off

Just got a dock for my birthday, this helped me a lot. Those LEDs are annoying at night!

    Thank you!

This is excellent. Short-pressing the power button and turning the display off prior to docking does the trick. The button lights stay on for a bit but then turn off on their own.

    Thank you dhj074!!
