Pete's Bugless Beast 0.4 FRF84BV04 (2.2 Android) THEMED SMOKED GLASS BLUE

    This is Pete's Bugless Beast 0.4 FRF84BV04 (2.2 Android).

This IS a full rom just themed. I have themed the ADW Launcher, the Browser, Menu Screens,Gallery, Phone/Contacts etc. NONE OF THIS IS MY WORK. I have just compiled it. There are various themes/roms weaved into here: Simply Stunning (large part), Dark Edge, Smoked Glass Esque, BlueNexThemeMetaM for the menu blue HTC Icons, etc. The Live Wallpaper is a paid app that lets you configure the colors/density etc called Nexus Revamped Pro. If I leave anyone out please let me know.

One person said the Bugless Beast toolkit wouldn't work, and out of the 100 times I've flashed this screwing with the themeing that happened to me once and to fix it I ran the app a second time and it worked.

I do this for myself and just hope someone else will like/use it.

This is a full rom . Put this on your SD card, boot into recovery (SPRecovery) and Just wipe the cache and data a couple times, install as update.zip.

Advanced nandroid backups are always a good idea before doing any flashing. I back up like crazy.

7-15: The zegoe/segoe font is built in now, and the battery has a hard coded 80/60/40/20/10 for % battery left. Also updated and themed the newest ADW Launcher that was available at the time. Included themed twitter, facebook, and pandora. (thanks ACalcutt) and Music dropdown notification is white instead of black on black. Also tweaked the transparency on the Power Widget to make a bit more transparent. (Going to have to do that to the ADW Launcher, too so many files, ahh!)

    Download: update.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

    Flash:
http://www.4shared.com/file/DBv-YAPN/Adobe_Flash_Player_101_1016168.html (Install this as a program don't push it to a /system or /data it'll do that on it's own)

    Optional Kernels:
http://p3designs.info/kernels/ (put them on the sd card just like the rom and install as an update.zip)

Love the looks of it but I think the download link is broke. Everytime I download it it almost instantly says download complete and then when I try to go to the file with astro it says the file directory isn't there or contains errors. Hopefully you could get a working link. Thanks. Really want to try this themed rom.

There are two boxes on the 4shared page the left "download" box is the one you need to click, it makes you wait about 90 secs to start your download. This is the blue box that says "download now".

I would not recommend downloading the rom with your phone, do it at a computer and you'll be much better off, the speeds will be faster etc. I have not had consistent luck downloading large files to my phone from the internet. Just download it to a computer then transfer the update.zip to your phone.

    Checked again no problems...

I've downloaded it twice now, once from my laptop/aircard on the road and once at home on a 10Mb cable connection..no problems downloading it. Also added a request to ask people to check it for me. Not sure what is holding you back.

Is there a smoked glass theme with white rather than blue?

Sweet theme bro im really digging it. lightweight and really smooth.

Quick question tho, would I be able to use a faster kernal with it? like something in 1,000MHz range? Sorry for the noob question I was just curious.

    Kernel should be no problem

I've only used the 800 mhz kernel on this Rom and have no problems what so ever, but you should be fine with a Chevy kernel or another as long as it's froyo specific

Nice, yeah I have no problems either it runs smooth I was just thinking I might give it an extra boost.

only problem is I've only tried to install different kernals with rom manager and it comes out bad everytime. do you know how I would install the kernal manually???

I'm gonna give this a try. I'm on BB v0.4 and have been DYING for a nicer theme that works with BB, but I just saw LUNA come in... was about to try this too.

I'm just scared to change ROMs b/c I hate having to redo all of my settings. Does TITANIUM BACKUP take care of EVERYTHING? I've done the backup but never had to restore... I'm under the assumption that I can run a titanium backup, do 3x wipe, install a new rom, boot, restore with titanium and I'm set up completely again?

    Titanium, mostly.

Advanced Nandroid backups take care of everything in case there is a problem. I haven't used Titanium since Froyo because it reinstalls your paid apps automatically. Titanium used to go the extra step and restore applications data as well as shortcuts, again haven't used it in a while. Other than that what are you worried about losing? Text message history? Phone logs? I flash all the time when working on this and am back where I need to be in no time.

Yes, txt msg history, call logs, and things like that. The first and last ROM I put on my phone was BB v.4 and I had to redo my LED colors, notification styles, alert sounds that all have to be redone in settings for each app.

Or... did I not wait long enough for it to automatically populate?? I did do a wipe factory reset and wipe cache 2x... I thought "wipe" gets rid of that kind of info, and as I've been told I should always do a wipe when trying new ROMs...

So if I was to try this one, I would wipe 3x cache and 3x wipe factory reset, right? Don't I lose settings?

Sorry... I'm not a pro yet... getting there slowly. :)

    try this

Try this so if the look doesn't make up for the trouble of fixing your settings:

Download Titanium, use the menu key to do a Batch Operation, Back up all user apps + system data

Then reboot the phone into recovery (hold x while booting) do an ADVANCED NANDROID Backup. Date it or name it so you'll know which one it is.

Then wipe data/cache 3 times, and allow an update.zip installation. Boot into the rom, and first thing install Titanium from the market. Restore All apps + System Data. Then let the phone sync with the market and cache itself, reboot it once. Try it out see how you like it. If you don't like it reboot into recovery, (hold x) wipe data/cache 3 times and do an ADVANCED NANDROID RESTORE and restore to you old backup, reboot, back to square one.

You rock. :) Okay, so advanced NANDROID will restore you even to your old ROMs, settings, and apps completely?! That's neat! :)

Installed after 3x wipe and now I have no data connection..

EDIT: Keeps bounding back between 1x and 3g. Runs incredibly slow. Switching back to BB 0.4 original.

Sounds like you need to reactivate the phone

Incredibly slow huh, you do know that 2.2 is usually slow on the first boot while it's resyncing and downloading your apps in the background don't you? And if you have no data connection you usually need to reactivate by dialing *228 and following the instructions by the "operator".

How about give me a bit of time to try and help if you are having trouble.

I love people complaining about free stuff.

One thing I've learned over the years I've been overclocking computers and such is that impatience is your #1 enemy!!! I read and read before I do mods, hacks, and overclocks... I've learned the HARD WAY.
