OK - as you all know, there is no voice prompting in my 5.1 ROM (and not in 5.2 either). This is an issue with 2.3.3 and it is not yet fixed.

Soooo - I have added a fair bit of new stuff besides the obvious 2.3.3 upgrade - is it worth the extra effort for me to build a new 2.3.2 ROM in addition to the 2.3.3 upcoming release (5.2)?

As far as I can tell - it is the only broken feature. I personally do not care about the BT voice prompt - however - if there is enough interest - I will consider releasing two ROMs, one @ 2.3.2 and one @ 2.3.3.

I would hate for people to leave SS and go to another 2.3.2 ROM simply because of this ... one of the new features I have added (which is why some of you use PE, as well as BT voice prompting) is the ability to lock custom apps into memory - so you can have it both, if I build another 2.3.2 ROM.

I would not leave for that issue alone. Today I played with the thumderbird, I did like the larger screen, and it is temping but my D1 with SS is so smooth and quick I will be keeping my D1. I like having complete control how my Droid looks and performs.

    Thanks again Chevy!!

I would say it's not worth the hassle.

A "nice to have" but not critical IMHO.

I don't personally care at all about the BT Voice Prompting.

    BUT...my 2 cents:

I have had varying success with redraws in your Gingerbread ROMs. Currently with 5.1 redraws are terrible. Everything else is running extremely well. I use ADW EX and for some reason it does not get along with 5.1.

If your additions to 5.2 don't allow me to solve my redraw problems I am probably going back to 4.96. If that is necessary and you would be willing to support two ROMs, I would rather see you keep supporting both Froyo and Gingerbread rather than two different Gingerbread versions.

I agree with Rich. The redraw issues would be much more of deal killer for me. I rarely, if ever, use the BT voice prompting.

I'll be honest, I do use the BT calling prompt function in my car.

What would we be losing if we went to the 2.3.2 ROM?

Blue Tooth Voice promting? People actually use the Droid/ BT for phone calls? Who knew!

(jk, jk - settle down people).

Bottom line, not a problem for me to live without it.

I do use bt for calls but don't need voice prompt I'm used to not having it when I make voice calls over the headphone Jack in my girls car.

Plus I also use adw ex deleted adw and launcher 2 and I use terminal to lock home in memory for 5.01 and 5.00 with 5.1 I have not had to use terminal because the new setting in Chevy tools works fine for me no redraws.

I do use the BT voice calling. Much less intrusive when driving... push button and say whom you wish to call. Much safer. I was very happy to get it back after going without it for a while after originally getting Droid 1. I suspect it will get put back in code shortly. I'll just continue on!
