Hm, so a factory reset might fix it?

You know, Google is always changing stuff on their servers so it is possible that this could clear up in time. Who knows how long it might take, though. One example: gmail.com in the stock browser with user agent set to desktop (and any webkit browser set as such) had been broken for at least a few weeks. Gmail.com simply would not finish loading. Just a few days ago, it was fixed and now works fine. What I'm saying is that you might just want to wait a bit to see if Google fixes this.

My bet is on "streakingrumager", I sense it's a Google glitch and who knows what triggers it.

Spent half the day googling this and there isn't a clear solution only bypasses.

How ridiculous for google that they create the android OS and they can't even get their search engine to work with it properly.

    Fixed for now

On Verizon support's suggestion, I pulled my wife's battery AND sim from her Galaxy Nexus for 30 seconds before putting it back together and powering back up. That seems to have worked, at least for now. Note that earlier in the thread, I had tried clearing the history, then the app data to no avail.

I finally have mine working (for now anyway). I brought up the google page & went to the liitle face in the top right corner (google+). I signed out there. Then I brought the actual sign in page up and signed in again. I also unchecked the keep me signed in box. Finally got into my gmail. :) Hopefully it will continue to work.

@LoneWolfArcher: no need for deprivation of 18 & over sites. (Of course, they can overlap porn, but in no way equate to porn.) Just stick to the apps & don't go through the browser. :)
