Bricked Phone

I just tried to upgrade from rooted Froyo to GB. Now when I turn the phone on it shows the red logo and then a bootloader screen but nothing else.

any ideas on if I can fix it or what to do?

If it goes starlight to bootloader, then you will have to SBF. Seems like you might've used the wrong files to update. Let me link you....

Just use the latest SBF and it should get you on GB.

SBF is pretty risky though isnt it?

Would it be better to just try and get a new phone from Verizon?

Nothing risky about it. Verizon store would do the same. If you were trying to hack it and bricked it yourself, then please don't return it or try to get a new one. We take responsibility when we choose to hack our devices.

Just finished SBFing the phone. It installed much faster than I thought, about 5 minutes. The phone turned on and prompted me to activate it. Seems ok. Thanks to Droid-Xer for the link to the SBF tutorial, it was much faster and smoother than I anticipated it would be.
