Safestrap has been working great on my MAXX HD.

I haven't taken the update as I've been running a few different ROMs using Safestrap. I try to avoid jumping on an update as soon as it's released as I prefer to stick with the ROM that's been working best for my phone. Eventually a ROM will be released which contains the update anyways.

Having the Moto bootloader unlocked is the most exciting android news I've heard in ages and hopefully it means the dev community will be coming out with some some great stuff soon!!

Yeah, but again, my phone is not rooted, and I don't want to have multiple ROMs installed, taking up space, etc... It is sorta like having a PC and having to dual or triple boot Windows, Linux, OSX etc... I may try it though, just to see it, but an unlocked bootloader would be much better.

I don't believe you'll even be able to unlock the bootloader without being rooted.

And Safestrap requires Root, which I do not have and cannot get.

    Awesome, thanks!

Rooted and bootloader is unlocked, although I can't seem to get a custom recovery like TWRP installed. Trying to figure that part out, and once I do, I can go find a decent ROM.

I had to install TWRP manually. The tool for installing it easier got updated. It should work better now. If you try manually I suggest you setup ADB to be in the environment path of your OS. Makes things a lil easier when using ADB.

Which tool do you recommend? My manual attempts are not working. Whenever I try to reboot to recovery I get the android character with the red exclamation.

I believe DMX has a video walk through for installing twrp manually, might help.
