Bought my Fascinate Today - advice

I've had a Blackberry Storm for 2 years and finally bit the bullet today and bought a Samsung Fascinate. It's a bit different, but definally feels like an upgrade.

1 - So what are the "must have" free apps I should get?
2 - Is there a way to have a specific ringtone for each person's SMS? So I know who is texting me? That would suck if there is no way to have more than one text ringtone for everyone. I like most people (or at least put them in groups) to have their own SMS ringtone - and ones I've made.

if you don't like the default home, get launcher pro, definitely much smoother than touchwiz. imo atleast. You might want to take a look into rooting your phone, but it destroys your warenty, but i wouldn't do it until you get somewhat familiar with the phone. I'm not sure about the specific ringtone for each person though.

what is "rooting"?

it's pretty much gaining administative access on your phone, so you can remove some system apps you don't want. i wouldn't recommend it until you get to know your phone.
