I would like to see the gingerbread update hit D2 handsets. I think i am gonna give it a few weeks and see if it comes and if it does ill prolly root after and if it is definite that we wont get it ill proceed to rooting and customizing then. Any thoughts on the D2 getting GB ya'll?

Every droid usually gets 1 major update. Droid 2 hasn't received one yet, Gingerbread will be it. just wait and see.

I think you mean at LEAST 1 major update, Droid 1 is up to 2.2 now and it started at 2.0 originally I believe. My old G1 went from .9 to 1.6 (with stops at 1, 1.1, 1.3, and 1.5 if memory serves correct?). We'll get 2.3 but some people need to realize that even the ONE phone that it's written for isn't available until Dec 16th, it'll be rolling out to everyone else sometime next year at the EARLIEST as official OTA, I'm sure ROMs will be out before then if you're rooted
