I've tried ROM manager with Droid X and Droid 2 selected, I've tried the Bootstrap app, but both hang at a black screen after the red M logo @ boot. A battery pull allows the phone to boot normally afterwards.

Suggestions?

You need to use the DROID2 bootstrap.

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums

What do you mean? Don't use Rom Manager?
DONT USE ROM MANAGER. it is completely un-necessary on the DX. it was a great tool for the D1, but pretty useless on the DX.

if you use DX bootstrap, turn off debugging in the setting

if you use D2 bootstrap, you can use it as is.
