Bootloader?

Why would a dx go into bootloader screen when hooked to a computer running winxp? The computer had a screen up that said it found new hardware and needed to install it. I transfered a few pics off the sd card and left it hooked up to charge. This is the first time I have ever seen this happen.

I believe it does that when charging sometimes.
