There are a few reasons you might want to know how to get into the download mode on your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge. If you are interested in installing custom firmware you may need to boot into download mode at some point in order to flash a stock image to restore your device back to factory settings. You will also need to be able to boot into download mode to root your device with CF-autoroot. Once rooted of course you will be able to install TWRP and mod to your hearts content from there.
To Boot into Download mode:
1. Power down the S6 by holding the power button then selecting "Power Off"
2. Press and hold volumedown+home+power
3. A blue warning screen will pop up asking if you really want to go to download mode
4. Press volume up to boot into download mode
That's all you are now in Download mode and can root your phone with CF-Autoroot, or can flash a stock image with Odin!
