Tired of the default Motorola "M" Logo when you reboot your phone?
Want a little more personalization?

Phones supported:

  • Droid 1 via SBF
  • Droid X via SBF or Boot Logo Changer
  • Droid 2 via Boot Logo Changer
  • Droid Pro via Boot Logo Changer
  • Droid World Edition via Boot Logo Changer
  • Milestone 2 via Boot Logo Changer

I originally got the idea from various threads:

From this I created and developed a windows program to make it simple:

Many requests lead me to take up the project once again using info from various sources:

So what do you do to use this program?

  1. Create a 24- bit bitmap image that is exactly 480px wide by 182px tall. You can use the image editor of your choice including PhotoShop. I personally prefer GIMP as it is powerful and free.
  2. Run my Boot Logo Generator program.
  3. Click the "Open Image" button and select your bitmap.
  4. If you want a different background color than the one generated by the image, click the "Change Bkgd Color" button.
  5. Click the "Create File" button and select the type of file you want to create.

  • D1 SBF
  • DX SBF
  • Boot Logo Changer File (.bin)
If you do not know how to flash your phone with an SBF, then look into investing into JRummy's fantastic apps on the market as an alternative to flashing your phone.

To use file created with JRummy's Boot Logo Changer:

  1. Copy the BIN file to the "boot_logos/custom" folder on your sdcard.
  2. Run Boot Logo Changer
  3. Click "Custom Logos"
  4. Pick your file
  5. After it confirms the flash, click "Reboot" to test it out!

After all this......Where is my Program??
See my attached files. The latest version will be attached in this post.

What apps does Jrummy have that help you SBF? I think I have all his apps so I have to ask this.

Perhaps I could have worded that a little better. Was trying to say that if a person does not know how to flash their phone with an SBF file, then they should look into using JRummy's app as an alternative to flashing the SBF.

I'be been using your app in the D1 requests thread for maybe 6 months now. I can say I've spent a lot of time making boot logos, but if I had to do it the old fashioned way I might still be working on them. :D

Thanks for your hard work on this app. It's allowed me and others to customize a lot of phones. Now that you've got support for the DX & D2, I've updated my sig to help spread the word.

Following from the original threads, I thought I might point something else out.

If you use (or just appreciate) the app Shibbey made, please rate this thread high! Look for the 5 stars in the top right corner of his first post. Show your love there as well in addition to any posts in the thread itself.

Thank you, Shibbey. I've been using this off and on for a while now. I like my boot logo to "blend" with the animation. So when I find a boot animation I like, I'll take a piece of it, and using your generator, make a logo. Very easy, very quick. Thanks again!

I keep getting a error

I try to use the tool but keep getting an error that says,

"to run this application, you first must install one of the following version of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework"

I am running Windows XP 32-bit. Tho it's a custom computer all the .NET frameworks are up to date to the BEST of my knowledge b/c I checked. Help please?? [email protected]

A link would be GREATLY appreciated

UPDATE: Received this via email as a response 7-17-11:

Applications which require .NET Framework will require a specific version, so having later versions does not include older versions. For instance, having v. 3.5 does not cover v3.0. Also, there may be missing components that were not selected during the web install. You can install the standalone version to guarantee all components are installed.

Standalone (complete) installer download available from this link:
