Book for Beginner App Developer

    I would like to get involved in app development for android devices. I have no real experience in programming other than some basic programming 20 years ago. What would anyone recommend as a good starter book (or website) for dev apps for droid's?

    I would like to know th same thing. I want to get into this also if someone can point me in the right direction I would love to be able to try out making roms and possibly apps. I am more interested in Roms. I would like to get into kernels but I hear thats pretty involved.

    use free resources online! just as good! java first, then android deving
