It seems like after my phone has been on awhile (maybe 2-4 hours of minimal use, maybe a few calls a bit of browsing, an SMS or two) it seems to get very slow. Very slow responses when clicking things, etc. Sometimes when I hit dial on a contact it would take upwards of 4-5 seconds for the call to start.

Has anyone else encountered issues like this? I'm running the latest 2.01 rom from sholes (the one released 1/12/10). I'm also running it oveclocked. No wifi.

Since you have a hacked phone, I'd assume you already know that apps stay on in the background and may slow the performance of the device. If you do know, and this isn't the case then I can't provide any advice since I don't have a hacked ROM.

I have very few apps running at all. I use hancent for sms, and I have the weather channel app running for weather. The CPU program for regulating the CPU speed. Nothing that should be crazy taxing on the droid. When I reboot the phone it runs great, a few hours later, not so great.

I concur with your findings. Major slow down after awhile

Maybe its where its overclocked? What if the long-term effects of doing that aren't so good?

After rebooting, does it tend to speed things back up?

Yeah, I mean on a consistent basis. Just a guess (base on my certainly limited knowledge about these phones, but they are basicly just small computers) is that there may be memory leaks.

Your not dealing with optimized code here, prolly far from it. This system hasn't been out long enough to think its where it will be 6 months down the road. Let alone a hacked version.

I had the same issue with the newest sholes.info release.
I went back to the RC 1.0. To me it's faster than the 1/12 release and never slows down.

same here, didn't like the sholes_info release it was way to slow....anyone who reports that it's "great" and "awesomely fast" didn't use it for very long, if at all back to 2.1 for me and forgetting about the "overclock to slow my droid down method":icon_ devil:

Agreed...For the first 15 minutes I was completely blown away by the newest release from the Sholes.info team, but now my phone is lagging on simple tasks.

    Home Screen transitions aren't registering
Opening the music app takes way longer than previous
Apps don't open on the first press/tap sometimes
Functionality within apps seems slower too

I guess I'm going back to the RC1 ROM - thankfully I don't care about WiFi tether or VPN.

I reverted back to rooted stock 2.0.1 after seeing horrible performance on the latest sholes rom.

I believe this is caused by compcache that is embedded in this rom.
