Bluetooth Headset Won't Automatically Re-Connect

I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro Bluetooth headset paired to my Droid 2 Global.

I have no problem using or manually connecting the two devices, but can't seem to get them to automatically re-connect when they're separated.

I often leave the headset in the car, and would like to be able to get in the car and have it reconnect automatically with the phone.

The workaround right now is powering down the headset and powering it back up again, but surely expecting it to automatically reconnect isn't asking too much...right? :)

I have the same problem (and solution) with my Jawbone. It can get annoying but I haven't found an easier way

If the Plantronics Voyager Pro has been out of range for more than 30 seconds, and they are together again, you can restore the connection by tapping the Call Control button.

I imagine this works during one specific conversation where the working distance was exceeded.

On second thought, a conversation is probably not required, as long as the Bluetooth connection had been active.
