Corny, and true. As much as I love to soak up a little nature, having a nifty bird data/ID/tracking/something program would be GREAT! I have already found out a way to hunt the birds by using the Tricorder App. It works like a champ!

I agree, I really miss my Audubon society app on my iTouch. Something like that would be cool.

Consider blueBill Mobile (blueBill Mobile - Home). More than 2,000 supported species from North America and Europe, access to 18,000 call recordings, GPS-assisted tracking, sharing in KML, multi-lingual.

iBird Pro was released a few weeks ago and it is awesome (there is a free version with just a few birds, and a "yard" version with a couple of hundred if you want to test out before spending $20 on the pro version).

Audubon Birds is good, but it takes forever to launch (over a minute on my Incredible) so by the time you get the app open, the bird has flown away. I prefer the id tools better in iBird as well though.

Bluebill looks interesting for tracking and access to additional song data, although no pictures for ID. I just learned of it in this thread, so haven't tested yet.
