It seems to be lasting a while. I got mine at a Verizon Store back in September and that's what it cost. Thanks about posting it as it's a worthwhile thing to get.

I believe they're doing this on all of their extended batteries on LTE devices... not sure how long it's going to last either, but it's been going for awhile now. It's a no-brainer in most scenarios! :)

I love the OEM extended battery. I know it has different specs but it is amazing none the less.

Let us know how it works. It seems that the OEM extended battery plays better with the software. Not that it won't work, but you might get the "Plug your phone in" message long before it really needs to.

    Which battery?

Yes, I can vouch for non-OEM extended batteries that work - but don't calibrate. My 3800mAh battery will last for 2 full days - but for the entire second day it will read "1% remaining" and the red light will be blinking. After trying about 10 different ways to calibrate it, I finally gave up. The only downside is that I can't tell when there REALLY IS only 1% remaining, so it will shut down without warning.

When I had the Seidio extended battery on my OG Droid, I kept getting low battery warnings long before it was low. In the end I used the Battery Left widget, but used the voltage readings, not percentage. I knew that 4200mV was full and I needed to find an outlet if it was near 3500mV.

While I think it can, Otterbox won't fit. You have to use a Dremel on that one. Maybe leaving the door off.

    Uh, oh

The battery arrived yesterday. Man, is it big. With the OEM battery installed, the phone is .443" thick and weighs 6 oz. With this behemoth installed, the phone is .722" thick and weighs 8 oz.! More bulk and weight than I want to carry around.

With this battery installed, when I plug in the phone I get a message: "Invalid battery. Your device battery is invalid and cannot be charged. Replace the battery with an original Motorola battery." The battery charging light on the phone does not come on.

The built-in battery charge indicator shows all question marks. Infodroid shows the battery at 90%, but that's what it was reading with the OEM battery. It hasn't changed after being plugged in overnight. The "Battery Left" app is also stuck at 90%. Both Infodroid and Battery Left indicate that the battery voltage is 3789 mV.

It appears that I have a battery that would require an external charger to use. If that's so, I won't bother.

I think I'll leave the battery in until it's discharged and try charging it again. If it doesn't charge, I have a new paperweight.

Mugen also makes a 4000mAh battery, but it's closer to $90 in cost. Their 2000mAh will fit in the OEM stock battery's place and even uses the same door. Of course it has less capacity than the Motorola extended battery and costs $45.

The Seidio extended battery is 3500mAh and costs abut $65.

Personally I feel that the Motorola extended battery at $25 has the best value as it lasts all day (for me at least) and doesn't add that much to size.

I got one of those ebay 4000 battery a while ago for 9.99.
Works great. Unplug at 6AM, still going at bedtime after 10PM.
Left unplugged once and was still going after 4AM and finally killed it about an hour later. Battery monitors don't calibrate correctly but I know I'm near the end at 3000mv. Beats 6-7 hours on standard battery. Going to check on that Verizon 25 dollar special for a more slimmer battery, than this 4000 brick.
